The actress who has been busy promoting boyfriend Harman Baweja’s futuristic flick Love Story 2050, Priyanka Chopra has confirmed news about her pregnancy. Before you rush to a conclusion, this has nothing to do with her real-life. When Priyanka told us the news, she was referring to her on-screen character in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion.

Priyanka who plays the role of a hi-profile model in the film will be seen getting pregnant only towards the climax of the film. So for all those fans who thought that they will get a chance to see Piggy Chops sporting a bloated tummy, sorry to disappoint but that’s not happening as yet. But the good news is that since Priyanka is absolutely confident about stepping into a pregnant woman’s shoes (she readily agreed for the addition that was nowhere mentioned in the script) and with so many unconventional roles coming her way, we may soon get to see a pregnant Priyanka, a la Preity Zinta Style.

“It has taken a lot of effort from Priyanka to sort things out with Salman. He can be quite bad when you rub him the wrong way too many times. After a lot of tears and explaining she has managed to get on Salman’s good side.

So when she heard that the hunt was on for an actress to play the lead opposite him she made sure that his people knew that her diary was wide open,” says an industry insider, “This was her way of just reiterating the fact that when she had turned down Mr. & Mrs. Khanna earlier it was genuinely because of dates and nothing else!”

He adds that Priyanka did speak to Salman after the two patched up. “When she agreed to do a cameo in Mr. & Mrs. Khanna (the film she previously turned down) she managed to get back into Salman’s good books. Now it can be told! Everyone knows that Fardeen Khan was initially supposed to enact the role that has been portrayed brilliantly by Akshaye Khanna in Race. Also, Mallika Sherawat was the first choice for the role of Mini [eventually portrayed by Sameera Reddy], the dumb associate of the investigating officer. Not many know that the casting underwent many changes before it finally went to the actors we see on screen today.

To start with, when Fardeen Khan opted out of the project [the dates were clashing with Heyy Babyy], the makers approached John Abraham for the part. John heard the script, but declined the offer because he didn’t want to portray a negative role [didn’t he win accolades in Dhoom?]. The role went to Akshaye Khanna.

Before Bipasha Basu came into the picture, the role was initially offered to Priyanka Chopra. She too, like John, didn’t like the idea of playing a negative role interesting [although she won tremendous praise for her part in Abbas-Mustan’s Aitraaz]. An insider from the film unit tells us that film director Harry Baweja, who is also the father of Harman, wants to minimize his son’s public exposure before the release of the film, just as Saawariya director Sanjay Leela Bhansali did with Sonam and Ranbir. The idea is to create as much of a buzz around Harman as for the VFX heavy Sci Fi film.
Priyanka wore a sleeveless sheath dress in silver metallic flower print. The dress had a banded empire waist, a revealing V neckline in the front and a deep V neck at the back, ending with an oversized bow detail. Just recently Farhan had confirmed Saif Ali Khan for the film which is based on an unusual subject – the evolution of the telecommunication system. Now, the young director says he has finalized Priyanka Chopra as the film’s leading lady.

Interestingly, neither Saif nor Priyanka are the film’s main protagonist. The central character instead would be a child. The movie tells the story of a little boy. Saif and Priyanka play the characters who touch the little kid’s life in different ways.

Priyanka Chopra’s dream home is ready and the actress is delighted. But she hasn’t moved in yet and will do so when she has the time to do it up herself.

“I’ll have my house-warming party and move to my new place only when I return from Miami in July. My parents have shifted though, leaving me by myself in our old place,” she grumbled good-naturedly.

“Last week my parents had a house-warming party for their friends. Since I had no time, I refrained from inviting any of my friends. Isn’t that sad? We had to postpone our shift several times.
