Prakash Jaju had filed a criminal complaint in Indore against Priyanka Chopra and her father Ashok Chopra for allegedly threatening him through underworld don Chota Shakeel in order to pressurise him to stop demanding his dues from the actress.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court dropped the proceedings against her but dismissed the criminal revision filed by her father. Ashok Chopra is to appear in Indore Court on September 17 as the Judicial Magistrate, Indore has issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

Jaju in his petition has contended that the High Court had committed an error of law by using its powers under Section 482 CrPc holding that allegation made in the complaint did not disclose any offence against the actress. The District Court today stayed an arrest warrant issued last month by a lower court against Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s father Ashok Chopra.

Judicial Magistrate V S Mubel issued the warrant while acting on a complaint by Priyanka’s former private secretary Prakash Jaju. The warrant was stayed by Special Judge M M Mamtani. The case would be argued on September 24.

Actress Priyanka Chopra on Monday filed a caveat in the Supreme Court to not grant relief to her former personal assistant Prakash Jaju without hearing her.

Jaju had filed a criminal complaint against Priyanka and her father Ashok Chopra for issuing criminal threats to him in the Indore Court. The Judicial Magistrate has already issued a non-bailable warrant against Priyanka’s fathe for September 17.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has given a clean chit to the actress but dismissed the criminal revision petition filed by her father seeking to quash criminal proceedings pending against him at Indore.
