Vidya Balan plays the role of a news reporter Tehzeeb while Priyanka plays the role of Kkamini, an item girl in Salaam-E-ishq. For Vidya signing SEL was an impulsive decision which she did after hearing the script. Vidya is immensely excited about her tack in the film and loves the script of the film which is basically a different love story.

Vidya says “Salaam-E-ishq is truly an ode to love; it depicts the story of six different couples and six different kinds of relationships. Despite whatever problems one man goes through, true love always sticks it through. it strengthens your faith in love and relationships”

Vidya has been paired opposite John in her track and their track too is about an unusual love story. in their love story too, a life changing situation takes place but love triumphs in the end to keep them together. They’ve done four hits together. To silence constant gossip about them being close in real life as well, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra had resolved not to work together.

Now, sources say director Priyadarshan wants to bring them back together in his next film, to be produced by Ratan Jain of Venus.

Nikhil Advani, director of much awaited multi starrer ‘Salaam-e-ishq’ and leading lady Priyanka Chopra (who stars opposite Salman Khan in the film) visited Jaipur on Sunday 14th January to address the local media.

All hell broke loose when Priyanka and Nikhil arrived at Jaipur’s iNOX multiplex. A frenzied crowd attempted to get a glimpse of them, as they walked into the multiplex to get on with the press confrence. Nikhil and Priyanka floored entire media with their witty and crisp answers and at the end of it people were asking for more!

After the press meet Nikhil and Priyanka went to Dargah Sharif, Ajmer, to offer their prayers. ‘Salaam-e-ishq’ is slated for release on 25th January 2007 all over. Apart from Priyanka & Salman it co-stars Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Akshaye Khanna, Sohail Khan, John Abraham, Juhi Chawla, Vidya Balan, Ayesha Takia, isha Koppikar, Shanon Esra and Anjana Sukhani in the main lead.

Priyanka Chopra was required to be thrown into a swimming pool by Akshaye Khanna, in a song sequence Saiyaan re from ‘Salaam-e-ishq’.

Priyanka want to make sure that the pool would be refilled with fresh water. But due to short of time, the water couldn’t be cleaned. Being sporting she agreed to do the scene finally.

All this while we thought that in the film SALAAM-E-iSHQ, Priyanka Chopra is paired opposite Salman Khan while Akshaye Khanna has Ayesha Takia for company. There is a twist in the tale as both Akshaye Khanna and Priyanka Chopra share the screen space once again AAP Ki KHATiR! Well, at least for a song!

Playing an item girl in the film, Priyanka Chopra jigs along with Akshaye for a number ‘Saiyyan’ that would soon be considered as yet another highlight of the movie.

“i hate taking even a day off from my work,” she said. “Out of the day’s 24 hours i don’t mind working for 15,” the former Miss World told a prominent newspaper recently.

“i play this wannabe, an item girl, who just wants to become successful. My character is a funny, sassy, saucy screwball. And yes, i had loads of fun doing the role. it’s an ensemble cast. But i’d like to believe my track with Salman Khan is special,” Priyanka said.
