Spotted: This Don likes cricket

Even as the nation obsesses constantly and compares every little facet of Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming Don with the 1978 classic directed by Chandra Barot, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra took time off to go cheer India.

Reader Anshul Verma was in Jaipur on October 15, watching the India-England cricket match, and took some pictures of the Don couple. Reader Hemant Dinkar decided to send in the snaps.

Going by how India won the match, maybe Don should cheer every game. Continue reading ‘Spotted: This Don likes cricket’

Priyanka Chopra didn’t make a very convincing skydiver in the blockbuster Krrish because her gait and movements didn’t match those of an athlete. However, in Don, after having received martial arts training for her role, her control over her body is evident even in her dance sequences.

In the original Don, Zeenat Amaan as Roma was shown executing fight sequences that could only have been executed by a trained fighter. However, she wasn’t cast as a fighter and frankly did not appear fit enough to skip a rope for any length of time. In the remake, to lend greater credibility to the fight sequences, Roma is cast as a trained martial arts expert. Hence the training, that Priyanka had to undergo.

The new Don’s Roma is not just ready to fight for him, she is trained to do so!

Priyanka is not particularly perturbed by the fact that her performance as Roma in the Don remake, to be released this Friday, will be measured against that of Zeenat in the original. She feels the two films, while based on the same story line, are substantially different, “There will be comparisons, of course. When we started off with the film we were very prepared for the fact that there will be comparisons. However, our Don, as much as it is a remake of the original Don, is very different.” Continue reading ‘New Don’s Roma, Priyanka Chopra, believes in Don’

At present pretty Priyanka Chopra is leading a very busy life and she loves the pace. In a recent interview, she said if she had a man in her life, perhaps her pace would have been slower. “No one seems interested in me, she laughed.

“In such a scenario, how you can expect me to have a love life? she quipped.
But she hoped someone special will soon come in her life and then she will slow down her pace. “Hopefully, someone special will soon be a part of my life.

Till then, I have to fill my life with work, she said with a sigh.
Priyanka’s next release is Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don’, where she played opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Presently she’s shooting Nikhil Advani’s ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ with John Abraham, Salman Khan and Vidya Balan.

Bollywood superstar and Pepsi’s brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan boarded Pepsi’s “Blue Billion Express” train on Sunday to cheer the Indian cricket team when India beat England by four wickets at the ICC Champions Trophy match at the Sawai Man Singh cricket stadium in Jaipur.

Shah Rukh, who took a ride on a train after seven years, was accompanied by his “Don” co-star Priyanka Chopra, who also endorses Pepsi.

The 11-bogey special train done up in blue and white with a catchline that resonates through all of Pepsi’s ad campaigns – “Oooooh Aaaaah India, Aaaaah Yaaaaa India!” – written on it chugged out of Delhi’s Safdarjang station early Sunday with about a 100 cricket fans.
