When you’re a doctor who’s all set to volunteer at a free medical clinic, who do you call to help in the inauguration? Well if you’re Dr. Ashok Chopra, you just ask your daughter, who also happens to be one of the top actresses in the country!
Pretty Priyanka Chopra was on hand at the Kasturi Polyclinic in Andheri, Mumbai on Saturday afternoon where her father Ashok and mother Madhu (both doctors) were part of a three day free medical camp for the underprivileged. We spotted Priyanka at the registration desk and at the ribbon cutting, and she had this to say during her speech: “After the terror attack, it was essential for people to know about organ donation. Many people lost their lives due to a lack of awareness. A number of terror victims await kidney donation while 65 await liver transplantation. Educational programs by various doctors were held to dispel myths.”
After the recent television strike, Ashok realized the poor conditions in which the workers work in and promised life long check ups to the members of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees.
Priyanka looked slim in a polka dot buttoned down shirt and a high waist black pencil skirt as she helped create awareness for the camp. Isn’t it great to see celebs using their star power for such a good cause? Check out pictures from the event below!
