A court here on Monday issued summons to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra in a defamation case filed by her former secretary Prakash Jajoo.
First Class Judicial Magistrate Rajkumar Verma directed the actress to appear before the court on May 19.
Jajoo alleged that Priyanka had levelled baseless allegations against him in an interview to a magazine. In his complaint, he said the former Miss World had described him as a “cheat”, “mad” and “one who indulged in forgery”.
The actress’ local lawyer has confirmed that the summons had been issued to his client.
