Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra on Tuesday registered a case against her former personal secretary Jaju for allegedly threatening her and using abusive language, the police said.

Jaju, who is suspected to be based in indore, was arrested in 2004 following a complaint by Chopra alleging that a Chhota Shakeel gang member had threatened her on his instance.

“We have registered the complaint today and cannot say the exact details of the three threatening SMSs sent by Jaju to Priyanka on Monday night,” a senior police official attached to the Oshiwara police station in North West Mumbai said.

Jaju who was out on bail in the 2004 case, claims that the actor owes him Rs 1 crore according to the contract signed between the two when Chopra was new to the film industry.

The police are in touch with mobile service providers to verify the veracity of the case and the officer did not rule out action against Jaju either.
