Ranbir – Priyanka spend time together
Directed by Siddharth Anand who last directed Bachna Ae Haseeno, Anjaana Anjaani is a romantic comedy rumoured to be based on the Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy starrer Before Sunrise. The film is being shot in exotic locales around the world. The cast has only just got done with their shoot in Thailand where Priyanka even injured herself in an ocean sequence. The cast is now shooting in New York for a Christmas sequence and will move on to Las Vegas where they will shoot non-stop during New Year. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is all praise for his professional cast who vouched to work during the holiday season, ‘The Christmas sequence was crucial to the storyline and both Ranbir and Priyanka agreed to work on the schedule provided. They were given off’s but their professionalism blew me away when they willingly agreed to work this holiday season.”
Nadiadwala has acquired the right to shoot on the streets of New York by the strict New York Police Department (NYPD) which had last given permission to the Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal starrer in When Harry Met Sally. Sajid further adds about his cast saying, “Both Ranbir and Priyanka are a joy to work with. At first Priyanka was in her own shell but came around after a while, Ranbir on the other hand is as entertaining on screen as in real life. He carries that sense of fun from the screen to the sets which helped Priyanka to open up as well.”
For Nadiadwala, the teaming of Priyanka and Ranbir is a unique pairing. He says, “I worked with Priyanka in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and we have a very good working relationship ever since. Ranbir I cast because he suited the character and it would be great to see him opposite an equally talented actor like Priyanka, and since the two of them have never been paired before, I think I managed a casting coup with them. Their chemistry is great and the film will surely be a treat to watch.”
Ranbir and Priyanka have even changed their looks for the film with Priyanka’s new short crop being the new talk of the town in Bollywood. The two actors were even made to spend quality time with each other in order to acquaint themselves during the shoot of the film. “They hardly knew one another before the shooting. So they’re getting to know each other as their on-screen romance progresses.”A source present on the sets adds Sajid is planning on putting up Ranbir and Priyanka in the one of the best hotels in Vegas and will be footing their bill to make up for their professionalism regarding their decision to work this holiday season.”
