Priyanka Chopra seeks transfer of case from Mhow court
0 Comments Published by seo4india February 8th, 2007 in NewsBollywood actress Priyanka Chopra Wednesday sought the transfer of a criminal case filed by her former secretary Prakash Jaju in a court at Mhow near indore to the city.
The case pertains to threats issued to Jaju by the underworld allegedly at the behest of Priyanka and her father Ashok over a financial dispute involving Rs 1.37 crores.
An application seeking the transfer of the case was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate A P Rahul by Priyanka’s lawyer Chandrasekhar Raikwar.
Raikwar said a law and order problem might arise if Priyanka and her father appear in the court in Mhow on February 22 in response to summons issued against them.
Mhow is about 25 km from indore. if the actress travels by road, it may cause law and order problems as that town has witnessed several protests against her in the past, Raikwar contended.
The court issued a notice to Jaju following the transfer application and sought relevant case records from the court in Mhow, Raikwar said.
The next hearing was fixed for February 15.
According to the case filed a couple of years ago, Jaju received threatening phone calls from underworld don Chhota Shakeel over the payment of Rs 1.37 crores as commission owed by the former Miss World.
